I want the car that these wheels are on, but it is not worth buying if I cannot get some $$ out of the wheels. Any idea on worth? There are none for sale on here or ebay. I went through all the threads that mention them and no one had any idea on value. I only need this beetle for its rust free pan, the front is buggered up and he has an inflated idea of its value....The wheels are 15" Performance Industries. Someone knows, surely....
Here is the car and the wheels. Value anyone? Thanks.

| Did they go quickly at $350 or was it a hard sell at that price? That does give me a baseline. Thanks for the quick reply. Anybody else have experience with these? Anybody willing to just go ahead and send me $500 for these? I even have 3/4ths of the lug nuts :D |

| they need at the very least an extensive cleaning and may be missing some of the caps from what i can see there. there was a set that sold not so long ago on here. they were up for about 2 weeks, nicer than those, and $250. i've seen sets in that condition for $100-200 plenty of times. so if your wanting quick sell i'd say don't expect more than a coupla hundred bucks. i'd like to have a set but have made myself stop buying wheels for a while...ken.... |

Cool. I will get pics of all 4 for you. I am guessing if you do want them you will not want the tires? A lot cheaper to ship without. You can have the tires if you want, but they are dry rotted and have tubes in them because they do not hold air. |

| Those are my favorite wheels. These are some good pictures too! Does anyone have any photos of them polished. I'd sell all my kids and wives to have a five slot version. |

Thanks for posting this as I just scored 3 and I didn't think they were worth anywhere near that amount. :)
When I researched it quickly, it looked like the value was $50-$60 each.
I'm happy to see what they look like "done". |

I love them. There used to be a lady who worked next door to where I worked with a set on a blue 69. I always wanted a set after that. I drove to the Tri-cities (3-hour round trip) for a set. The sticker says $150 but I think I paid $100 for them with no caps. They're very nice with no curb rash or anything. I was thinking of putting them on a convertible I have.
I wished I would have. :(

I restored a set a few years ago, polished, powdercoated and didn't realize the offset was so tight on a Type 3, they'll work with 165 /15 tires but couldn't go with bigger tires. I ended up selling them for $450. after all that work.
Then, I recently found a set with the original center caps which ISP is now repop'n the center caps.
See pics :

The center caps on the restored set are from Centerline Wheels and fit with a slight modification, they can be acquired at your local wheel store.
They are nice wheels, but many showgoers think their FV Volksmags by Superior Ind. |

all you have to do is measure the centerbore and then get online and find a cap you like made for that centerbore. i'm probably going a step further on my set. i'm thinking about drilling and tapping them for 4 ear mount centerline/american racing/et style caps. i actually bought the wheels from this thread. they need some SERIOUS work so i haven't gotten around to them yet.
but finding caps is pretty easy. theres a coupla sellers on ebay selling caps in various sizes/lenghts/ end type(pointy, blunt, etc).
i'll try and remember to measure the centerbore tomorrow when i'm in the garage so you can look around.
if it's the set outside of reno listed on here i hope he gets back with you. i sent several emails to no avail. not a big deal as i don't really need another set i just have a problem with buying them hahaha...ken.... |

| On another note, you mentioned you just need the pan. Any chance that the luggage panel is in good shape and that you might be willing to sell? |

I have a set of these wheels and they are not stamped or marked Performance Industries. They have the original center caps with the P I Emblem and I have found a package with the P I Emblem, it's not Performance Industries but Pacific- Italia Inc. As you can see in the photo there is a beetle with the wheels in question.
So, Are they Performance Industries or Pacific-Italia?
