Hello :D , finally registered on your forum, and just wondering if the pomona swapmeet is worth going to. I am travelling from Scotland UK to LA on tuesday and leaving on the 4th Sept (Sun) and want to take in at least one show.
I have looked at their webiste and it looks pretty impressive.
Any views appreciated as i dont want to waste my time as I only got 12 days, to see round california and quick visit to Las Vegas.
Cheers

Since you'll be in town, come and check out the Familienfest show Saturday August 28th. Pomona is only about 1 hour+ North drive from where the show will be. We're expecting about 150 cars from all VW types (aircooled only)
Click on the link below for more information or PM me for more details. |

Eliot,
Pomona is ok for about once a year unless your'e selling parts there. Most people usually do not bring out their show quallity vehicles to Pomona. Take Iveedubbins advice, the Familienfest show is the day before Pomona and there should be lots of quality VW's to check out. There is a campout Friday night before the show. Where are you staying? What are you driving? It looks like you are here from Tuesday through a Saturday. There are also alot of local VW shops in the SO. Cal. are that you might want to check out. Let me know if you need any help or more info. |

Thanks for the replies guys, i think Pomona is the only one I can get to, friend of mine wants to go to Tuscon (spelling) first when we arrive to see his aunt and uncle and wont be back till sat. (Muchos driving to be done).
What will I be driving well, either a pontiac grand prix or ford taurus according to the hire company :? . No idea what they are but no doubt not very exciting.
Boxonwheels what places would you suggest shopwise, gotta get to some of them cause i have been reading hot vws over here in Scotland and stuff is half the price if not less than it is here. |

Money Pit,
You can follow the samba community to the business links to get started. Where are you staying? Los Angeles area? If you are up to more driving.... Bill & Steves in Downey, WolfsburgWest in Corona, and the Koch's in Canyon Country will get you started. I'm off work Friday through Monday for the Familienfest Show. I relatively close to all shops, shoot me a PM if you need any help while you are in the States. |
