Hi Guys, I am looking for a guide on how to and what parts are needed to replace the old crash box for a later tunnel box in a 57 Oval...
I know that I have to get a front casting and hockey stick but thats about it...
Things I need to know...
1) Can I use the short axle tubes and shafts from the old box in the new one ?
2) Can I fit slightly uprated rear brake system from a later car ( I want to keep wide 5)
3) Anything else I need to know.

Any help on this matter will be very much appreciated. Paul. :wink:

The hockey stick and nose cone you need has to come from a 60-67 Bus.
The axles and tubes on a split case trans are the same as the short ones up to 66, go ahead and use them.

If the shafts and the tubes are the same as up to 66 can I use the later brakes system as well ?

yes you can use later brakes-but you need to use right side on left and left side on right (e-brakes cables go in from rear on 57 and older) or use newer ebrake cables(shorter) to have them come in front part of backing plate..58-64 bolton and use 58-64 ebrake cables for instance.
