For a USA LHD 1970 bus, there is only ONE master cylinder: 211 622 021T
This master only has one brake light switch.
68-69 USA buses use the 211 611 021Q master.
68-70 masters are not interchangeable with 71 and up. The center-to-center measurement of the reservoir nipples are 100mm. 67 bus and 71 up are 85mm, same as Volvo, Rabbits, and Mercedes.
Bus Depot has the 70 only M/C for $49.95:

Not sure how you got confused with 3 masters listed at Wolfgang. They ONLY list the 211611021T for 1970:

A little expensive @ 109.95...... |

What is your bus vin number? Both switches are connected?
If yes, sounds like you need the 68-69 master: 211611021Q

Hiya Humfry and Karl,
This master cylinder business can get a little confusing whan discussing the 1970 Bus.
Humfry, like you, my original master cylinder had two ports for the switches. I'm of the opinion that the 70 bus came with a master cylinder fitted out with two switches. Wiring diagrams for that production year would seem to confirm that.
And.........for what it's worth........Wolfsburg West lists the 211 611 011T as being the master cylinder in the 1970 Bus. This master cylinder does have the ports for two switches. And it is what I bought when I replaced my MC. And it fit the bus perfectly - both wiring and brake line hook-ups. It has functioned (in all respects) flawlessly since I installed it two years ago. Not cheap at $120 then - $140 now!
I have no idea what variants of the 1970 bus the 211 611 021T master cylinder would fit. Interesting situation though.

My 1/79 fiche shows two m/c models for all busses but my 2/75 fiche shows 3. For the 021T master cylinder it says "without stop light switch". |

And if you read the label on that M/C, it is a T. Just like I wrote in my 1st post to this thread. The T is 70 only. And it is cheaper at Bus Depot:

Now we are right back to my original post, which everyone pooh-poohed :) |
