Do you mean Chico Performance Racing (Anibal)?
Please do not confuse the two.
Chirco in Tucson has never shipped anything to Peru.
I just want to clear this up quickly, there are too many people reading this thread.
One of our customer called us inquiring about this to make us aware.
Fixed. I took the liberty to correct the spelling in the previous posts so avoid any confusion.

Thanks

Just got an email from Steve simply saying:

"Why are you calling me? I'll never answer!"

Man, I can't think of a single reason why I could be calling. Oh Wait! Now I remember...

And here you are in this thread bragging about calling Steve. You are treading in very dangerous territory and are going to get stepped on very hard. It has been stated that Steve has initiated bankruptcy proceedings. Since you think you're a lawyer, I suggest you study up on that. You also need to study up on harassment/stalking laws, because you are very, VERY close to breaking those laws, and Steve can have the smack put down on you very quickly.

It was stated in the other thread that several law enforcement agencies are involved. These people have no sense of humor and don't want to be tripping over a charging piss-ant such as yourself. You need to MYOB, and do it often.

You're right, this doesn't concern me at all :? I'll also stop bragging because that was obviously the purpose of me posting that...

if Steve Houston can identify you from the call, he may press charges...

If I am understanding things correctly (and after this many pages, who the hell knows)

Technically, until Steve replies asking not to be contacted because of a bankruptcy filing, there is no law the kid is breaking. Creditor laws apply only to companies that issue credit, not disgruntled customers.

I have head of a neat trick where someone claims they have filed for bankruptcy as a means to avoid collections calls from customers.

That being said, I don't know the stalking laws in California.

Sage,

Technically, there are too many people out there who have been watching too much Matlock, Perry Mason, and Law and Order.

While I feel sorry for the guys who have lost their money with Serranos.
The reason he was in business for so long was the cheap prices.
I used him on many ocassions and he shipped my stuff over to me in Australia without a problem.
I had read his feedback before my initial order and " took a risk"
That risk paid off and I save a hell of a lot of money, thousands.

I think we need more like him( without ripping people off) so it makes the other retailers compete.
Without people like Serranos, it seams the VW industry is a sort of closed shop and they charge what they want.
Its like that here in Australia, we only have a dozen or so retailers and they all charge the same.
Just my opinion.

The VW industry does NOT need any more businessmen like Steve. He had no business plan, no idea of his costs of operation, or the realities of doing business. When things got to the point of "robbing Peter to pay Paul" he was spending more money than he was taking in and had no profit margin BECAUSE he was selling parts to cheaply and not covering the business expenses. I feel he got to point of serious cash flow problems and, instead of stopping and regrouping, he used customers money to pay his suppliers, employees, etc. just to try to stay afloat.

In the meantime, many of his customers got screwed, because most of his suppliers wouldn't put up with the stalling techniques that his customers were forced to accept and cut him off. My take is that he started off with good service and low prices but quickly did too much business, and didn't plan for any increased expenses that come with more business. I believe that this is what caused his downfall. Or, he had an "ego" problem and thought he could corner the VW parts business and be "king of the hill". Either way, he was a very bad businessman.

Let's face it, it was the customers who ended up getting screwed because of his poor business practices. I don't know whether or not he had a lavish lifestyle, so I can't comment on that.

The VW industry does not need more businesses operating like Serranos. Maybe the shops in your country know how to run a business profitably, take care of their customers, and will be in business a long time.
