When I was first looking for a Westy, the only safety consideration I had was that it had to have a seat belt on the rear seat for my kids car/booster seat. After I got my Vanagon I saw this, and was quite pleased.

| yeah, the vanagon crash stats are really impressive...Anecdotally, I saw a bay that a friend of mine's wife drove in a head-on crash...the bus looked horrible, but all she had were some bruises on her knees...Even the bays & splits sit high enough to go up & over a car...an SUV of course is much worse... |
