why does it allow people to lurk without being seen? the away column does no good anymore

previously, if people lurked in chat, their user name would be moved from the "Online" column to the "Away" coulmn on the side of the chat.

currently, if the user remains idle, the name dissapear from the "Online" column and does not return until the chat window is closed and re-opened or text is entered

I haven't seen one yet that:
1. Everyone can use (like people behind firewalls at work)
2. Works well

You wouldn't be able to use most of the commands anyway since you wouldn't be an admin.

well, something i did notice about this chat...

if you click on this one to open chat
There are 3 user(s) on chat now [ Click to join chat ]
the chat window opens up and you cannot manipulate the size of it.

but if you click on the link at the top under the forum tab that takes you to this link

you can change the size of it which i find very helpful for using chat at work "on my lunch break"
