I have a 68 ball joint front beam on a 61 bus. The rubber boots are split on the ball joints. I want/need to replace them. The joints themselves are good I think. Is it possible to replace the rubber only? And if so any advice and things not to do etc?
Cant find the required rubber on West Coast Metrics site.
The beam is out of the bus so I cant remove the downward tension on the torsion arms too easily.
Any help/advice gratefully sought. Thx. |

If the joints do not have any measurable Play" or slop then I would do the boots if you can get ahold of some... WCM used to list them in their catalog, I don't know about their site.... I would call them or check with some of the other vendors... it would be a hell of alot cheaper than replacing them and alot less work... the arms have to come off and get exchangedor taken somewhere and have the joints pressed out and in... it is not a fun job getting the torsion arms off and on a bus beam.... way more hassle than a bug beam thats for sure... good luck let us know where you find boots at if you do..... |
