By chance, do you have one of the rear wheels blocked/stopped? Not sure if your syncro has a rear locker or if you are just letting the applied torque go through an open differential?

Being that it has a broken motor mount I would probably say it's an ALH. Post some pictures if you want better confirmation.

Yeah, good idea. I'm still having some issues with mine popping out of 3rd gear. Basically it's the same symptom as the OP is having, only in 3rd gear instead of 4th.
