Looks a lot like a bolt to attach a toilet tank to its base, from inside the tank.

I randomly found this in my garage under the van. Does it ring any bells? 84 Westy with a 1.9 wbx. I took a long look around underneath and couldnít see a possible spot.

PO had taken out license plate lights for some reason, NY requires them. At least the hookups were still in the engine bay. Reconnected some new LED ones, good to go.

Added third brake light.

That last picture, showing the 5-way connector with several red wires going to it looks just like a GoWesty AUX battery installation.

Hmm...

I asked the previous owner if thereís a spare battery ...

I am confused byÖBoth fuses 8 and 9 are getting 12v at both ends, yet as I follow the cables the lighter is not getting power.

Do you mean the wire is hot (12V) at the fuse but not where it termin ...

After digging a little I see that on your '84 the hazards and radio share the 16A #9 fuse. The cig lighter is juiced by the 8A #8 fuse, shared with interior lights and stop lights.
