For anyone in the same boat. I measured and the holes are tapped deeper than the 20mm of the stock bolt. Replaced with an M6x25 and it was able to torque it down okay.

Wondering if you ever figured this out, or if anyone has any ideas.

I had the same issue with the AC causing the fans to run on high. Swapped out the two resistors with spares I had. No change.

Broke down the intake manifold assembly this evening.

The plenum and tubes will be blasted and powder-coated, injectors serviced, throttle body de-gunked.
