Actually the spindle changed 3 times, as in 67 VW went to larger tie rod ends. Granted the steering arm is what changed, and is a bolt on part.

I'm not sure what your terms "1 pin" and "2 pin" refer to.

I'm not up to speed on piston sizes... is the mounting hole spacing the same on your two calipers? Single or dual ble ...
