The transaxle in my 61 panel did not even have those shift rod detent plugs installed or a front shift shaft seal. It has all three plugs and a seal now Wink

Yeah I can see where a couple of pieces of flat sheet metal with a good weld will in fact make an "I" beam "H" beam hybrid rod almost bomb proof ,albeit a bit heavier.

No rain gutter is with the roof panel. The roof skin sits in the bottom of the rain gutter outer channel and has a continues spot weld to fasten and seal it to the gutter.

I have never swapped any rod caps or for that mater 180 degreed them . The two halves are machined asembled with the bolts torqued. The only rods that are in fact cast in one piece are the "crack ...
