Make sure to inspect the brass distributor drive gear on the crank.

Those often get buggered up if anyone ever turned over the motor without the distributor in place.

Built a few motors with AA pistons but never a 1.8 bus.
Dish is different than factory, or the 2.0 bus AA i saw before.

When you run a cam it can be hard to get the compression you need.

The clearances from the OD of the cylinders to the ID of the case/heads are not something to be concerned about.

All it is there is clearance.

Within reason, of course..

Have heard cases where they total the car, and let you keep the "carcass" for free or cheap.
If you got, say, $14K and your car, I'd bet you could find a place to do the work for 14..
