Craftsman may or may not be chinese made, but the warranty should be about the sameas snap on/MAC/Matco or any of the other "tool truck" brands, and you dont have to chase down a tool truck ...

Update : 6:15am
Swapped batteries
Charging at 13.8 - lights off
Charging at 13.4 - lights on (much better than 12.6-ish)
Turned off - holding steady at 12.8
Makes me think that it is indeed the b ...

The bigger the battery (cranking amps) the more reserve you will have before running the battery dead .. providing you meet the minimum cranking requirements.
