When I rebuilt my 67 bug RHD pedal assembly, it had a crudely fabbed clutch hook. I cut part one of these modern clutch hooks to work on the RHD assembly.

Yep I ran into this issue with Berts spindles as well. Only I didn't notice it until i swapped them out for Old Speed spindles. It isn't much, but enough to gaul up the ball joint nut.

Whenever I wet sand, I stay AWAY from any edges. The cutting compounds will handle those areas and blend into the flat areas you've wet sanded. Have faith in the spinny pad!
