Unfortunately, when you flip the ring gear over to the opposite side of the Subaru transaxle, it then resides in the space in which the Subaru factory dual-range countershaft would reside. The only ...

I've come across that website in the past. I wonder if they're willing to ship all the way to the US. I would be interested in buying one of those oversized fuel tanks they used in their 2wd vans ov ...

First of all, your van turned out really, really nicely. I've been busy the last few years and not on here as much. I never looked back on your build thread after the first few pages. I just looked ...

Yes, that ring on the inboard cv joint is the alternate VSS. It looks like that's a Smallcar unit. Their newer ones actually have a blinking led that lights up when the sensor rotates past to assure ...

Your engine must be hooked up to alternate VSS right now. They don't run well at all with no VSS. Without it, they run in limp mode and won't rev above about 4000 rpms. Does your engine run proper ...

Andrew- I had completely forgotten that you built a wbx beetle. I remember the 1.8T Boxster, but I'd forgotten about the beetle that you re-converted to a Subaru. The wbx beetle is on my to-do list ...

The wbx bell-housing will definitely bolt up to the Type 1 engine. The question is whether the wbx flywheel is larger in diameter than the Type 1 unit. I've never compared them, but I went into my V ...

It might be tough to differentiate between what constitutes a camper vs a passenger van. Many Vanagons end up being modified to the point where they have certain camper amenities so who's to say wher ...

Too bad that David never corrected his instruction sheet. It would have saved me some troubles.

You mean Ray, right? I'm not affiliated with the RS Fab hardware package.
