Can you even get Old Man Emus any more? I have some that look as old as the van. A little harsh but once the westy is loaded it drives great.

If the boot on your rack is shot get it changed out asap. Inexpensive. If grime gets in there it will wear out the seals in your rack.

my .02 is I wouldn't use that engine. the DOHC Subaru 2.5's tend to be a bit of a headache. most of those had HLA (basically hydraulic lifters) and are a pain to set up.
