$3,500 will get a long block from Adrian at HeadFlowMasters with new heads. There is a $650 core charge if your block is toast.

So you have a '74 with and automatic and no engine and the engine & trans from a '78 with 2.0L and automatic but that's it. The '74 would have the 003 Auto trans and the '78 would have an 010 A ...

I donít trust that the fuel injection system was working on the 1978 so I am planning to put on a carbureted intake manifold, carburetor set up to go on this engine.

I bought this a a spare. I tested it once. It was a little noisy. For a roadside spare it's excellent since it has spade connectors and wouldn't require any wiring mods.

Never seen a re-pop, but every North American bus from 75-79 had one and they're pretty indestructible. Try the wreckers like [email protected] or Busted Bus.

I think 027 is M-Code for late bay CA emissions.

Your engine pics show the EGR port on the plenum. Thatís Federal only for Ď79.

A bit more welding is needed then I intially thought.


That's signature line material there.

Good luck with your project. A lot of us have been there. Kudos for doing it yourself.
