well I think the sidewinder sounds better (and quieter), but the real improvement to be made is to extend the tip out behind the fender slightly, and point back not down..makes a huge difference

Those are just standard hydraulic hoses, you can have those made.
Baldor is just the motor, I would try to figure out what pump you have and see what kits are available for it.

Tank is very very clean. No chunks inside. I have disconnected and blown through the lines and the line out of the tank pours out fast.

So if you loosen the fuel pump on the block and then tighten it again it works for a while? If that is the case I suspect the Bakelite base is compressing a little and that can bind the push rod in so ...
