I used stainless steel buttonhead bolts and nutted from the bottom.

I think it is clean looking

I don't think the engine is going to increase in rpm if your slowing down. Just doesn't work that way. Are you hearing gear noise making it sound a bit different?

How do rings cause an oil to leak at the head?

I bet the head is not depthed the same, or cylinders are not parallel after torqueing.

Like racerdave said could be the oil but if it shifts all other gears easily, it may well be the shift fork.

That's it, I have committed to RGB's with my 003. Waiting for the boxes as I type this. I will figure a way to attach the hubs to the shortened long axle.
