Good call. Still make sure to swedge the tube into the case. Don't try to stick it in with jb weld or something.

I was able to get some clearance with the right-side apron by tuning the collector location.

Where the pickup tube fits into the case there is an external plug (like a freeze plug). In this picture from the gallery you can see that plug to the right and below the oil pump.

I had to remove the bellows boot and the oil fill boot to get the heat shield installed - and then get the bellows boot back on with the clamp with very tight space. It's a good time.

Because when this engine grows up (to a 2110) I want the extra bracing. The brackets are already welded into the body.

And I want to hang the oil filter adaptor from it.
