A word of caution, replacing the nose is not for the faint of heart. Lots of things to cut loose and re-weld.

Try flipping them over, maybe they are upside down? They are a pain to get in place, there should be pretty good tension on them.

No, that is the expansion chamber. It's just an empty can.
Supposedly fumes go into the chamber, condense back to gas and can be drawn back into the fuel tank. I'm not sure how that would work in re ...

The bottom one should connect to the expansion tank and fuel tank, then run down the wheel well, connect to another line that runs under the pan to the rear wheel well, then up into the engine compart ...

Not sure on Ghia's, but on Beetles that hose takes a circuitous route up by the wiper mechanism. Some even have a small plastic collection tank up there.
Of course the Beetle has the vapor tank back ...

Get a good #4 Phillips bit for the door hinges. They do strip out pretty easily... I ended up drilling out 3 of mine. Once the head was off they rest unscrewed easily.

Jeff, have you tried a piece of weed-eater string? melt the end a little so it doesn't snag. I used that getting the wires to my 3rd brake light.
You need the heavy duty stuff and have to warm it up ...

Thanks Jeff, it was a journey getting it ready. I think the Ivory top is what pushed it to the win. I received lots of great comments about the colors.
