Overtorquing or not, me thinks a genuine Mercedes wheel will not crack.

Question though, is that crack really a liability? Even if all 5 are cracked, would it just start vibrating and maybe loosen ...

I will say when I first stepped into the Vanagon world 10 years ago I was absolutely convinced my 2.1 WBX needed swapping ASAP from all the bashing I'd read online, spearheaded by the Subaru crowd.

if you do pull the transmission again.
take a look at the release bearing fork, it's not uncomon for it to wear unevenly, which can cause the clutch to drag.

I redid my heads and cooling system, refilled and burped, and for awhile the overflow tank had coolant in it.

After some years, there is no more coolant in it and I'm too lazy ...

Then less than 50 miles after he installed the new heads. One of the heads leak out all the coolant while I’m driving on the highway in Las Vegas.

It tapers. Width is 64.5” at the front, 62.5” at the start of the cutout, 56.5” for the cutout. 12” length for the cutout, 33.5” for the overall length.
