You got a wire mixed up recheck your work. The white is hot all the time (4 way flashers) and and the switched hot wire is for the turn signals.

There are two adjusting points the one on top and the one in front (the great big nut).

Funny how everyone else in this thread ignored this crucial point.

I think I got it, Did you have the drums turned or did you replace with new? I'm putting my money on a out of round drum. Try backing up next time it locks and see if that releases it.

The choke is powered from the + on the coil the tube for accelerator cable should go through the front sheet metal (behind the fan shroud) so the cable doesn't fray. Brain fart on barrel nut mount.
