The way you wired it, when you turn the faucet on, you are closing the cicuit between the two wires that run to the faucet. So you are connecting the battery + to the bat ...

Thanks all for the tips. That's exactly the kind of knowledge I was looking for.

In the meantime I've removed the rack from the van. Two of the large screws were hard to remove, so I damaged them ...

I have since found that Group 91 batteries are fairly common in Canada as well and fit nicely in the spot.

Yandina C100 is the reference you might want.

Check and clean the connections on the starter.
If clean, try to activate the starter directly by jumping the solenoid + to the + wire from the batte ...

Hi,

Possibly an exhaust leak. Usually happens at the seams between two sections of the exhausts. Engine off, get your head down there and inspect with a headlamp. I doubt you'll find anything.
