The Bendix drive of a repo starter is the most likely to fail. The best solution is to buy a Bosch not working and use the Bendix drive

I have a 3 year old Deka 8AMU1R battery. It's a premium AGM maintenance free battery manufactured by Deka in my 66 Beetle. Fits under the seat nicely, no height issues.

You need the Type 1 oil catch tray, it has an electric pump to return the oil back to the engine.
