OP -- great sinka and love the color. A German flyer I have calls what you have a Grossraum-Pritschenwagen with that factory extra wide and long bed box. I'd keep that (box) stock for value as well as ...

My 86 "weekender" seats slid off with no problems.

I must say that I never enjoyed the exercise of seat removal and would resist doing it frequently.

I'm not sure about weekenders which have a longer seat base. If anyone has tried this with those then let us know.

I can climb most grades at 70 in 4th. And those that I cannot I can climb at 60 in third.... Keep the revs up. 4k to 5.5k is fine for steep hills. The 2.5 makes good power there.

I still use only maps for road travel.

GPS is a back-up.
