At what milage timing belt and tensioner needs to be replaced?
I have 98k miles on the clock and I think it started making noise, but not 100% sure

No grease needed. They are two small springs which push the lens up and to work it properly they must be present.

To save someone's work I tested ECU from VR6 Sharan ( 204PS as Eurovan ) with manual gearbox and ABS/ESP and it doesn’t work. The ECU is completely different. Similar story with Golf IV ECU.

It’s an 02g/AFL that bolts onto the the VR6. The ECU will need an adjustment as well.

Tried it while the engine was running, and it actually worked!? Why wouldn´t it work without the engine running? voltage sat at 12.54 volt without engine running

check the voltage at the glow plug ...
