Few more details, compression is 10.2.1, I don't want to go higher on pump gas.

Exhaust is 1 5/8 speedshop hideaway.

Induction is 45mm throttle bodies from vwspeedshop. I don't particularly like ...

Are you thinking of spring plates? There was a switch from double to single plates sometime in early 70s. Trailing arms changed bolt pattern to suit.

Have you got a long arm on the gearbox? Makes a big difference in pedal pressure.

Jose at dpr says they're not necessary, I asked as I've a dpr straight drilled crank. I managed to find a nos internal grooved centre main bearing so I used it anyway.
