Make sure your 356 fan is also welded and balanced. Blown up fans are not limited to VWs.
The fan I saw blown apart was in a bone stock, original owner, clean and well kept as can be, 1966 Porsche ...

Nice Bug, thanks for posting, my 61 is that color too.

The vent hole can be got at with a bent steel wire from under the car. they can clog up with mud.

The basic blade is 67, but it would have had overriders as well. Yours seem to be missing. Also your rear fenders are from a 68-up with those taller bracket slots.
