My wipers were doing exact same thing. Gear was cracked. Drilled a small hole into gear collar and shaft and pinned it. Worked like a charm.

Aside from the obvious step on the late bay what else is a show stopper on using a late floor on early bay? I have a beautiful '77 floor and a nasty '69 that needs chunks replaced.
