Mill the flanges so it sits at another angle, mod the shroud, or
add spacers under either flange

I've been using a very light amount of Marvel on the skirts only. The oil will make it on time. Near dry cylinders seat faster than oiled ones.

You should probably keep the rings as dry as possible until it gets splash lubrication. Turning it on its' side may get oil past the oil rings

For the OP: 88-100 grams versus 55g. The lightest I have gotten aluminum dual tapers was 40g. The narrower you build your engine, the stronger your pushrods become.

my next build lives by that stat ...

CB says that their alu pushrods are made from supersecret material. It is either 2000 series (2014?) or 7000 series (7075).

JPM and Logmech tapered pushrods are made from 7075 and they work. ...

Oh! Let's not forget about cooling! Any strives we can make in lowering cylinder temps will allow more compression. Also, adding another plug in some cases can allow more compression too.

How about a CB 2280 cheater cam , ground on a type 4 billet , its the same duration as the #71 but a little more lift . 0.466 versus 0.426
Id guess Type 1 lifters may be needed but that is easy ...

Regardless of the quality, the machining was done incorrectly.
