What part of the longblock broke? Is the whole lower end just clapped out? If it has good compression & end play it might not need to be completely replaced. Just remove & refresh!

Engine number is stamped on the top of the block like a t3 case. It is a universal case, Single relief, 1600cc. I couldn't find these numbers on any chart. Does anyone have any info. On this. Possible ...

Check the hazard switch, seems they come apart quite a bit & the signal switch depends on it.

The engine tin on a '71 bus is exactly the same as that on a '71 Beetle, with the exception of the front "firewall" tin, which has an additional thin strip tacked onto the top.

Here is a stock setup i pulled from a 1978 engine. Muffler is a Liestritz dated 1983. I still need the short pipe from muffler to the manifold

Sounds like a cool project. I thought this bus was destined to be a trailer, but now seems savable, idk. Hard choice to make. Cutting up a decent bus anyway.

$350 EACH for 2.0 crank cores, some of which look like they were, or should be rusty boat anchors?
