So, in the thread posted above, It looks like Johannes will be using stock vw rods to turn his 1603 to 8500 rpms. I would not have thought the stock rods would handle that kind of rpm.

some alum. PRs and light lifters.

So, Alum. holds up to that rpm. Would I get the 3/8. I typically run chromoly.

Raise the axle and the twist goes away. Its designed to flex with the suspension.

I don't think the seal should be as firm as you say it is. I would get another seal from another vendor. Maybe the chrome insert is too big.

I converted to electric using a kit that attached to the standard washer bottle and wired to the switch on the column. It was very factory looking. And I didn't have to worry about a flat tire.

I wonder if a relief valve is stuck open flooding oil back to sump.

Pull the relief valves and flush with oil to see if anything comes out.
