That spot circled in red is the kingpin play. 1mm is a lot. There should be no noticeable play.

the circled area moves a little bit ( say 1 mm) when I rock the drum with my hands and 6 and 12 oclock.

I guess this means I need new kingpins ...

this is going to sound pretty silly to some here but I made something like this for myself a couple years ago using an arduino and bluetooth LE.

it has some other things this french version didn't ...

What did you do to strip the rust on the roof? Looks GREAT!
