Run the 5.4 rods, Cb wedge port heads, Fk-8 cam.

1-5/8 exhaust. car will run low 13's easy.

I'm just saying i used the 5.325 rods in my 2332.

Benifits-

1.All the tin fits, it will fit in a old bug easy, because it's actually ends up being a little narrower.

Nothing wrong with a H beam rod, just that it's not need on most NA motors. It never hurts to go above and beyond though.

I like the stock rods on any engine where you don't need to grind the hell ...

Best rod out there for the money is the SCAT I beam IMHO.

Ran them in my 2276 , great rods, and a beefy rod bolt.

The rod bolt and end cap is the weakest part of the rod, is why I would not run ...

Your car should weigh about 1250 without driver, A "heavy buggy" might weigh 1400lbs.

I like everything but the carbs, looks like the cam was picked by desktop dyno or some other program.

My 2332 uses 106 degree lobe angle. Should have killer torque IMHO.

One of the best shifters made IMHO.

IIRC , reverse lockout is built into the shifter, and dang it's been awhile, but on every VW I seen, reverse is over by 1 st..
