Did some more research and Volkswagnut is correct. The top one is original an the bottom a factory replacement. FWIW the tank that WW sells is the factory replacement.

It is not a sad note. He did not want to drive the car long before i tore it apart. In fact he will help me sand blast sections of it tomorrow. I should have alot of progress to post next Monday.

No there is an idea. Instead of Plaster of Paris i could use silicone for a better mold. Will have to try that.
