Flywheel flex can also be a factor. the pressure plate housing OR flywheel itself flexing is lost motion which could require more travel to dis-engage.

The bars welded on there is pretty CRUD ...

The only dragstrip is in Palmer, 12 miles away
If I was in Ketchikan, I'd have to take a ferry and two days to get there !

The 3 fingers have coil springs, and if they get surface rust the springs will be compromised. Check first....
