Maybe I'm missing something here but the obvious solution is to get the Fox shocks that fit Syncros. King is another alternative. Expensive, but solves any worry about breaking something permanently.

So the door lock is that poorly made? The guy just gets past it in seconds.

By the way, all this "super expensive syncro ownership" stuff is way overblown. Maybe more than your average jeep or 2wd van but less than many other 4x4's and sports cars.
