I have heard that if you overfill it that the pressure could/will cause problems. Blowing gaskets maybe?

There is a really good ProTraining manual out there that deals with the fuel injection system. They don't make them anymore, but they can be found on Ebay every once-in-awhile.

Driving my Vanagon in the snow is no problem - she does fine. The fact that it's rear-wheel drive (where most of the weight is at) makes it no different than a front-wheel drive, imo.

FYI:

I have owned three air-cooled Vanagon Westfalia's, and two of them had the bad 3rd to 4th gear synchro (both vans had around 120,000-130,000 miles on them).
