Yes the SMP injsctors are good.

Lots of people using them with good success. SMP has been around forever.

Yes....your pump looks very good.

End play is best ....well......easiest.....measured with a depth gauge. The difference between the gear when its bore and the inner deck.

Check the end play on the gears and measure the backlash on the gears.

Most type 4 oil pumps "look" just fine. However once the gear backlash AND gear endplay combined start getting larg ...

Check interstate batteries.

I plugged in a 1973 412 and got back a model MT-42 (group 42 battery).

It appears to have the proper terminal style with safety covers.

Re-stating the obvious......The main reason to put the TC on cylinder number 3 is that with "many" acvw engine configurations....#3 tends to run hotter. I know for sure that type 4 engines ...
