Are the 1302s with the 1600 called the "S"? What are the differences between a 1302 with a non 1600 vs a 1600. Want to be able to see if there was an engine switch on this one. Aside from th ...

Am looking at what appears to be an early SB. Did they have 70 models? If not then maybe its a 71 and am veryfing this. I thought they came with front discs. Did they have drums?

Okay maybe be better to ask. What are the things that make the 67 unique and was it true all through the 67 or VIN 117 range?

Well I am only familiar with USA models. All of those had upright headlights in 67. I think the master cylinder changed during 67. The early dual circuit ones had the small tubes from resevoir, I thin ...

Encountered a bug I am interested in that according to its numbers is a 67 (117 vin code) with what appears is a matching 1500. According to the Samba dating it is dated as an Aug 66 made bug. Questio ...

As in the aluminum plate with the VIN stamped on it?

Yup that one. And as the posters well pointed out it is an important thing. To see a car without one is a problem I would think.

Is it even important? Because I have seen some here. Maybe due to a careless repaint have missing data plates. Does it drastically affect the value of the car or is all that matters the engine number ...

Is the parts issue with the 1302 really a problem? I hear about that here as well. Or is it just because the late bug just has so many compatibilities while the 1302 is not as universal?

Not in the U.S.. 64 and up U.S. cars were metal sunroofs. From what i've read ragtops existed until 67 on foreign type 1s.

Is there anything online regarding that? Also what where the VIN codes for ...

Let's say it will be used once in a while. More for weekend play. Weekend bug meets and cruises.

Is it true that the Super's suspension is prone to problems?
