What are your opinions on these two mills?
They are up for auction at my work.. employees only. I would just be doing some hobby work, light fab and maybe some Case cyl spigot enlarging, etc..

This is probably a modified boring tool or ones made from scratch.

If you notice in your pics, that's two different cutters. Most vw machine shops will have a whole wall full of different cutters ...

The 67 will bolt right in. Your car may sit a bit lower due to more leverage on the longer axle. Also you might have an issue with the hard brake lines on your 65 not being long enough.

Bore gauge is the absolute best. You can get a cheap one for around $50 or a starrett for around $300ish

Snap gauge and calipers are ok but more room for error.

Looks like a chenowth short back to me.. S BK would denote that. Top number is the serial.

That plate probably says chenowth chassis under the paint. Tape the area off and apply some paint stripp ...
