I had the same issue earlier this year. Thought it was originally my oil pump gasket, but was the main seal. Job took about a day, documented it all here, if it helps:

You might have an issue with condensation and eventual rust in the exhaust pipe with it pointing uphill like this. Most will point it down for this reason

The muffler touches the tube my clutch cable goes through, and the tube got around 200 F. Not sure if that ok or if it'll damage the cable inside at all.

Remove the little bolts that hold the brake drum to the hub, they aren't needed as it is the lugs nuts that do the real work of locking the assembly together.
