Not quite sure what you mean by manifold, but the metal clutch cable tube that runs through the chassis should not be moving. The clutch tube on my 1965 Variant broke off at the rear and I had to wel ...

A decade ago, I bought a 1962 Sapphire II radio at a swap meet. It didn't work, but it looked pretty. I spent a few hundred dollars having a guy on TheSamba go through it to make it operational. The ...

I'm not much into posting project updates, but recent work on my 1965 sunroof Variant has inspired a rant that I think ought to be public.

I've been working on getting this car back on its original ...

I recently bought a Type 3 generator belt from Bill. His price was fair, his communication was excellent, and his shipping was ridiculously prompt. I couldn't come up with a complaint about the tran ...

I did a bit more digging on this, and later versions of T3 and T1 parts lists show the small tab. They list it as 241 876 ...

It lasted for 7 years and 47,000 miles?
That doesn't sound too bad.
My low mileage '63 with 43,000 miles had a worn out bushing in it - the original.
I'm sure it had been worn out for a long time. ...
