Just tap it and install a allen head pipe plug, that's what everyone else does.

I think this is what you are looking for;

Type 1, Case Mains #1, 2, 3 = 65.00mm - 65.02mm or (2.5590" - 2.5598")
Type 1, case main #4 = 50.00mm - 50.03mm or (1.9685" - 1.9696") ...

Well according to the OP, only a Berg pressure relief cover was used and got screwed up. Unless I missed something nothing was mentioned about using a Berg oil pump.

I voted for the 5.5 from a practicality stand point. Jesus is right and I would actually use a 5.6 or 5.7 but your motor will become VERY wide and shimming/spacing gets more shaky.....

Yes, a machine shop will remove them. Besides its best to leave it on so, the machinist could actually inspect the guides and valve stems for any noticable play/wear.
