Get a speedometer app for your smartphone and see if the speed is in fact off. The factory tire size on my son's syncro reads high on the speedo.
You can buy a geared adapter to fix the speedo error ...

I have the elbow, but it's for the earlier box and the round port that's further forward. I'm using the oval port that's further aft towards the driver.

Sounds like your power rear hatch lock is worn. The U shaped piece with a paddle opposite it that slides on a metal shaft is part of that mechanism.

Nope. Different seal and pulley for blocking water/mud intrusion. The 2wd version has a flat face, the syncro version has raised ridges that fit into an extra piece ...

Same seal position but the one you have pictured is of the 2wd version
