Newerwesty,

I just flushed my syncro trans last week, & filled it with Swepco 201. It is difficult to shift when cold in the morning (50's). It's easier to get it into gear if I let the van roll a little. Whe ...

I plan on getting a set of 220/70R14's for my stock '85.

Maybe the stock cast pistons are just not strong enough for a heavy vanagon application.

A Chevy 350 intended to go in a truck would always get heavy duty internals vs a passenger car engine.

They do require some strength to deploy as you "lift" it more vs the Westy. My sister was struggling with hers to deploy & stow. She resorted to keep it down all the time.
