I finally have the engine fired up and did some test runs. Unfortunately I do have some error codes so I am waiting for Boxeer to help me solve this issue.

What harm (if any) will the unusually high oil pressure (if it is really high and not a false reading) do to the engine?

my only experience is with losing a couple of oil pumps on the inline mot ...

If I bought the 83 I'd buy it with the intention of swapping in a more modern turbo diesel.

have you driven the diesel? Smile you may find its not for you

the mpg is definitely there - at least on our 1.9l swapped '83 diesel. it got pretty incredible mpg but you took your time getting places ...

When I looked into it the ad specifically said no pop-up. So I don't think they are Westfalia friendly.
